With only 7 skaters we managed to salvage a 2-2 Tie with a determined bunch of White Bastards at the cage. They had 11 skaters so they fired a D man our way. Dude played solid for us, no fault there. We had myself, Hob, Marc (Michaud?), George, and PA upfront with Pierre, Ti-Gas, and buddy from them on D.
They jumped out to 1-0 lead early and they were all over us like a Fat Kid on Smarties. They were hustling and getting all the loose pucks. We finally started to push back and even things out. PA got us on the board with a Classic PA long bomb up the middle. He fended off their D and let a solid wrist shot go right on the ice that beat Wally stick side. We grabbed the lead 2-1 when Hob banged in a loose puck at the side of the net.

The play settled in and we definitely spent more time in our end, but we kept them to the outside and Al was solid and really controlled the rebounds. Not to mention we couldn’t seem to win a faceoff to save our lives. To our credit we didn’t get a lot of sustained pressure but we had some good quality chances during this stretch but just couldn’t finish. Hob it the crossbar and I couldn’t corral the puck as it bounced around, Marc missed the top corner by a few inches that would have finished a great play, and others.
As the game headed into the last 10 minutes we really started to sag, and sure enough, they tied it with about 5 minutes to go. We hung for the tie….2-2.
