Molson BlueLine Constitution – 2013
  1. Players must be 35 years old; however, if a player turns 35 during Season, he is eligible to play on his birthday, provided proof of age is presented to the League. If a player cannot prove his age at any given game, that player will not be allowed to play. All team reps. and referees shall have the right to request proof of age during any game. In the event an underage player is used,usually due to not being able to ice a sufficient number of players, then that team should notify opposing team rep. Of same to obtain their permission. Grandfather rule in effect for new teams. Grandfather Rule: When a New Team Enters the League and have players under the age of 35(within reason) and have been a member of that team previously, they are allowed to play, subject to League Approval.
  2. Team Registration: Each team shall provide the League President with a list of their players with birth dates at the beginning of the season. Any future additions or deletions should be reported.
  3. Game Cancellation Rule: Deadline for informing Opposing Team that you cannot attend a scheduled game is 72 hours notice, failing which the offending team shall pay ½ ice rental fees and entire referees fees. Referees should also be given notice of cancellation of games. If a team cancels & no substitute team is obtained, then cancelling Team is Responsible for paying ½ ice rental;Refs. Should be cancelled.
No Goalie Rule: Goalie shall play for Offending team without Goalie and shall be                 responsible for entire Ref. Fees.
  1. All Visiting Teams shall pay the Home Team Game before the beginning of each game.
  2. New Teams entering the League shall pay a minimum $100.00 to Scheduler.
  3. Referees Fees: $58.00 per game and $29.00 per game for one(1) referee.
  4. Game Default: Defaulting Team to pay entire Ref. Fees. Teams should ice at least seven(7) players including goaltender, any less and Team, who is responsible for Ice Payment, will pay ½ Ice Rental Fee. Team with 4 players and less, plus goalie, pays entire Ref. Fees.
  5. NEW-High Sticking Rule-called above the waist.
  6. Any player that is suspended from another league Must be pre-approved before being allowed to play in the Molson Blueline League.



RULES:
The League shall play following the guidelines of the C.O.H.A. rules. Specific rules that the League have advised the refs. To strictly enforce are:
  1. Use of stick on players above the waist.
  2. No Slapshots: Refs. Will determine what is or is not a slapshot. Play is called down/Face-off in offender end.(NEW)
  3. Verbal Abuse: Towards any game official will be an unsportsmanlike minor. Continuation will be a 10 minute misconduct; thence game misconduct.
  4. Three (3) penalties in any game and player will be given a game misconduct for that game only.
  5. Boarding and Checking are Major Penalties.
  6. No Fighting – Five(5) games(NEW)/2nd-15 games/3rd-Termination

The League Directors have adopted the following “Suspensions”:
  1.   3 – Penalities – Game misconduct for that game only.
  2. Gross Misconduct – 1st infraction is 3 games
2nd infraction is 10 games
i.e. travesty of the game/obsene guestures,etc..
C.  Match Penalty – 1st infraction – 5 games./2nd -15 games/3rd-Termination.
D. Deliberate Attempt to Injure – 1st infraction – 8 games/2nd-Termination.
E.(New) High Stick Rule: Pucks that are in contact above the waist and no danger to a player will     not be called a penalty/puck to face-off in offending end. If in danger to a player, a penalty will be called.
