8 Skaters in the Snow!

ENOUGH !!!!
That’s right! 8 men showed up last night in the “storm that finished at 5:30 PM”. Oh! And Matt was there too with his 2 new luffas. These were from his new sponsors, Jean Coutu feminine hygiene department and Cross Roads for Women.

We played the Islanders last night, they had 9 skaters to our 8. But you could see the determination in our eyes! Maybe it was the stars, because the storm had passed at 5:30 PM, and the skies were clear, as well as the roads!

We jumped out to a 2-0 lead. The guys looked liked they were going light up the other goalie. I think the first one was a weak one. This seemed to give the illusion that we were on cruise control, but they quickly tied it up after numerous spectacular saves by our goalie. (At least that’s how I remember it!)

They went ahead 3-2 on a shot from the corner that went off my stick. Bad goal. They kept coming at us, they had some good skaters and moved the puck well. Guy spent half the night in the penalty box. I think he was blaming his skates as he was always trying to wipe the snow off of them, and it looked like he was talking to them??? He quickly redeemed himself after the 3rd penalty with 2 goals to give us the edge 4-3. The Islanders pressed hard, pulling their goalie with 2 mins left, but our strong defensive??? what I meant to say was our strong goaltending sealed the win for the good guys. The highlight of the night was Matt’s ability to calculate the exact amount of length to miss the open net by to make a perfect bank pass behind the net to Noe on the other side for an easier tap in. Great job Matt!
