Sent the Blue Bastards packing for the summer with a 4-2 win. Didn't look like we were going to get it on. The Shediac vs. Mathieu Martin playoff game went into double overtime. But the home team scored in the first minute of double overtime and we all scrambled to get geared up. On the back end we had Andy, Marc, Matt, and Brian. Upfront we had PA, Ti-Gars, Ti-Boy, Karl, JP, and myself. We shipped over Guy and Ken cause they were short handed. The weasel #19 got in behind our D for a breakaway to go up 1-0. We tied it and then went ahead 2-1. They tied it from a shot from the corner that pinballed in front of the net to make it 2-2. JP got us the go ahead goal and Ti-Gars got one late to seal the deal. JP was Johnny on the spot and lead us with a pair. I think it was Matt who got the other one for us roofing a wrister. So take that ya, Blue Bastards! 4-2 for the good guys, see ya next year...Suckaaaaazzzzzz!
Beat the Orange Bastards....again! 6-3 at the Cage. Upfront we had myself, Karl, JP, Ti-Gars, PA, and Ti-Boy. On the blue line we had Marc, Matt, and Brian. We got the first one and were off to a good start and then got a power play. That's when I decided to make it interesting by coughing it up at the blue line as DickSmack tipped my pass and was off to the races on a breakaway to tie it 1-1. Then they promptly went down and scored again short handed to take the lead 2-1. We needed a little push offensively as the D got us back into it with a great wrister from Matt to tie it and Brian banged home is own rebound at the end of rush. JP picked up a rebound, Ti-Boy got one in tight, PA got rebound and another screamer off the crossbar and we eventually pulled away. Ronnie was solid and there ya have it! Take that ya Orange Bastards!
Since I wasn't at the last game, Matt and Ti-Boy give us the lowdown! Good job Boys! Matt: It was interesting. 5 of us showed up. We borrowed 3 players from a team of old farts that were playing before us. Jim bob was in nets. The white team scored first, but it didn't count as the ref didn't see it. Then they scored to go up 1-0. We then scored to tie it up, and within minutes they went back up 2-1. Then we tied it up again. we had the momentum for a while. In fact, so much momemtum that while we were 2 men shorthanded for almost a full 2 minutes we completely controlled the play in their zone. With maybe 8 mins left a loose puck came out to PA at the point and he wanted to show off so he rang it off the crossbar and in the net to put us up. All that was left was to shut them down. They got one last chance with 5 secs left but Jimbob shut er down. It was a good victory !!!! Ti-Boy:In case you guys were wondering we beat the blue bastards 3-2. 5 regulars and 3 spares we picked up from the game before. Jim Bob got the first star and a absolute bullet wrist shot from PA
Well the Red Bastards finally got us. They beat us 6-2 at the Cage last night. The ice was the shits. It was rutted and the was still wet 5 to 10 minutes into the game. ON the back end we had Matt, Marc, and PA. Upfront we had Jeff, Gilles, Karl, Ti-Boy, Hob, and myself. It started out pretty good and it was back and forth. Ron and Rob were keeping us off the score board and making some saves. They got on the board first with a fluky goal. Jeff tied it up right at half time. We were getting chances but we just couldn't finish. I put one over the net right in front, Karl missed an open net and a couple other great chances left the score tied a 1-1. Then in about a 7 to 10 minute span they score 3 goals. Two were fluky off a skate right on to their stick type of stuff. They did get on nice goal on a two on one. Karl plunked home a rebound to make it 4-2 with about 12 minutes to go, but it was short lived as they scored shortly after to put it out of reach and got another late. We weren't terribly outplayed, but we were sloppy in our end which cost us. We struggled breaking out and had too many turnovers. Red Bastards! On a lighter note....I'm not sure what to call this, but I found it damn entertaining!
