The Incredible 8

Yes you've all heard about the Magnificent 7, but last night it was the Incredible 8!  We beat the Orange bastards 3-2 at the Frozen Cage!  
On the back end we had Gauvin, Matt, and Brian with his new feet.  Upfront yours truly, Gilles, JP, PA, and Ti-Gars.  
Ronnie got the blood going early by dishing up a lovely clearing shot that banked off the glass, immediately bounced right to one of the Orange Bastards standing  at our blue line.  That's the fastest I've seen 'Ole Ronnie move, as he tried to scramble back to his net from above the circle.  Needless to say, that made it 1-0 for them.  Can't remember who tied it up, but they took a 2-1 lead not long after.  Brian also gave us a jump early as he caught an edge and flipped on his Arse backing into our zone.  A hard spill.  He then repeated the trick later behind our net.  We'll chalk it up to 'new feet'. He may be a little extra sore this morning.
Getting back to the game.  It was 2-1 for them at about mid way.  Up to that point we really hadn't put many shots at chicky-poo at the other end.  We started to pick it up a bit, started shooting more and sniffing around the net.  To be fair to Ronnie, after his initial flub on the first goal, he tightened 'er up the rest of the way.
We tied it on a great play from Ti-Gars and PA.  PA fed it over to Ti-Gars in the neutral zone.  Ti-gars hung onto it across the blue line with a couple of guys hanging off him.  The lone D man faded over to that side and Ti-Gars slid it over to an open PA who popped it top shelf, glove side.  After that we could smell it.  With about ten minutes to go we took momentum an buzzed all around.  Matt rang one off the post with a one timer from the blue line.  I missed an open net that would have finished a nice play, Gilles and PA both missed an open net on rebounds.  We finally got a break as a shot from the point came in and hit PA in the chest and bounced up and over chicky-poos head as we crowded the crease and watched it roll in.  We hung on for the next 3 minutes for the 3-2 win.  Take that, ya Orange Bastards!

Slow Feet

We got beat 5-3 by the Blue Bastards.  Late update so I can't remember the roster or all the details.  I do remember that we just got out hustled.  The got a couple of fluky goals, but none the less we just didn't skate very well.
We did have chances and were still in the game but Wally had a good game and that was that.

Heated 3-1 Win

Woin!  Listen to the Red Bitches!

It was the awaited rematch with the Red 'Bitches'.  Playing short handed for more than a total of 12 to 15 minutes we still beat the Red Bitches 3-1 in heated contest.
On the back end we had Ti-Gars, Brian, Marc, and Matt.  Up front we had myself, Gilles, PA, Hob, Guy, and Ken.  They got on the board first with an early power play goal to make it 1-0.  We tied is shortly after with one from PA.  It stayed that way for a while.  It was obvious the Refs were going to be calling everything. There was lots of hard play on the puck and digging along the boards.  All of it just good intense play.  But the Red Bitches took every opportunity to piss and moan when they came out on the short end of a play. I personally thought the Refs did a good job keeping the game in check. It was a fast paced game at the cage and both goalies played well.  Ronnie was solid and shut the door after the early power play goal.  We did a good job of clearing after the first shot and clogging up the middle.  We kept it up the boards for this most part and didn't get caught for long stretches in our own end.
We got the second from Matt who ripped a laser from the point as he stepped into one that squirted out from in front of the net towards the blue line.  From there is was steady stream of penalties and a lot of yakking.  We had some great chances and could have put this thing out of reach sooner but we couldn't seem to bang one home.  Both lines left a few goals out there.  
After killing off a couple of successive penalties Hob or Guy, not sure, banged in a rebound to make it 3-1 with about 9 minutes to go.  We hung on.  The icing on the cake was Ronnie stopping a penalty shot with 1:30 to go.  HA! 
Take that ya Red Bitches!

3 for 1

Ok, need to do a little catching up.
First off we lost 2-0 to the Red Bastards.  We didn't take it too well.  I'm not going to go over it too much, I think we beat this thing to death already.
Looks like our boy Jeff is going to have to sit for 2 games, and JP is on probation.  Moving on....

We rebounded well the next game and beat the Blue Bastards 5-3 at the Cage.  On the back end we had Ti-Gars, Marc, Pierre, and Brian.  Upfront yours truly, Gilles, Remi, Karl, Guy, Hob, and PA.  We never trailed and had at least a 2 goal cushion most of the night.  Ron was solid and we were lead with two goals from Gilles, PA banged one home and two goals from the guy who used to wear Red Pants.  Yes, you read that right, I have new pants...oh and ya, I scored two goals.  Don't know which is more believable. The pants are more like a girdle to keep my bloated Arse from spilling out all over the place.  Whatever, they ended my scoring drought.  So take that ya Blue Bastards!

Now on to last night.  Sorry boys looks like a screwed up and had the wrong time on the sched.  Allain was between the pipes and Hob, Karl, and Ti-Gars showed up at the right time for the early game.  I showed up early and jumped on about 20 minutes late.  We played 4 on 4 against the Orange Bastards so we didn't bother keeping score.
I'm going to get Roland to send me another copy of the sched and I'll double check it with Calendar and make sure I got it right.

Xmas Hangover

Is Xmas over yet, Dammit!

A little catching up to do.  I was out of town for two games over the holidays so here's a little catch up.  We got this little exchange from Ti-Gas and Pierre.

Ti-Gas:

"Tied 4-4 against the blue bastard8 and I think a 6-4 win over orange"

Pierre's response:

Against the orange we were loosing 4-0 after 10 mins and came back with 7 unanswered.. Sparked by our new star cardiac forward Matt with 4 goals.

I think we fouught back against wally for a 4 to 4 tie... Tough game, we had a week lineup with 4 spares who scored some greasy goals."

There ya have it!  A win and a tie!
