We beat the Green Bastards with only 8 skaters. Pierre, Hob,& myself on D. Sergio, P.A., Karl, George, & Claude upfront.....Game on!
Started off back n forth for about 8 min. 'till Hob pull a Boner! Came around our net and headed right up the middle...deke one guy, deke second guy, third guy....not so much...Oh look it's behind Warren. Doh!
Almost right of the center ice face off Sergio carried it in an let one rip from the top of the left circle, off the blocker and in! Bam! 1-1. Hob feeling better.
Our first star of the night, George, started the play for our go ahead goal. He was on his wing in our end, puck came round the boards, George came down low and picks it up near the hash marks, plays it up the boards past the pinching D, and out we come 2 on 1. PA makes a great pass across to Claude and he makes no mistake, top shelf glove side...2-1 for the Good Guys.
They tied it up at 2. We got caught pinching and up they came 3 on 1. I took a whack at 'em and he flubbed it, and rolled through the five hole. Doh! 2-2.
Warren was solid and nothing soft was getting through. We managed to keep most of the shots from the outside and did a good job controlling the rebounds and the front of our net.
George once again got things going on the winning goal. Picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone and streaked (term I use loosely) cross their blue line. Quick pass over to PA who was driving the net. PA did a good job kicking it up from his skates and got the shot off. Instead of going for the big turn, he put on the breaks, and banged in his own rebound. Bam! 3-2.
We hung on for the next 6 min, played smart, didn't cough it up and grabbed the Win! Rob "The Green Bastard" had a solid game as well. We peppered him with some good chances. It was a solid win!

A Classic!
Let another one slip away! Lost 6-4 to the Black / Orange or whatever colour BASTARDS!.
First off, we only had 8 skates and the Black Bastards were kind enough to send over "Albert" for us. Ahhh....thanks. Note on this, there was a heated discussion about not enough players showing up and what to do about it. But that's for another time.
We got off to a good start and found ourselves up 3-1. Then we had some GREAT chances to put this fucker outta reach but couldn't. Misses by yours truly, PA, and Kenny could have broke their back...but Nooooooooo.
Before ya know it, it was 3-3 and the momentum had shifted. We were running out of gas, and they kept coming. Couple of goals later, now we're down 5-3. We hung in there, kept digging, and got one back to make it 5-4 with about 5 min. to go.
It was back and forth and then with about 2 min. to go, and we're looking to pull Warren....that's when IT happened.
Pierre pulled a classic. Last man back, grabbing the puck at our blue line he started to pivot to face the play....and....NOOOOO! He catches and edge, stumbles onto his ARSE, flat on his back, they walk in 3 on none, beat Warren....and there ya have it. Final 6-4...BEAUTIFUL!

Go! Green Bastard!
Well we had to call in the services of Rob, the Goalie, from the Green Bastards. And it all worked out. Rob was solid for us between the pipes and we cruised to 8-1 WIN! He stood on his head late in the game with a scramble around the net, which he topped off as Sqooze the Puck between this pads as he was spralled out.
We still have a chance to get to .500 before Xmas....we gotta win out. One down, three to go!
We had 3 lines and we just wore 'em down. Big Joe wasn't there, which didn't hurt. We finally evened the score with our Honey at the other end. We're now 2-2 against her. Me 'tinks we got her figured out now. Hard on the ice, Up high the Blocker side (she's a lefty), and Karl can't keep away from her 'Five Hole'
The scoring was spread out and we rolled the 3 balanced lines really well and kept the pressure on most of the night. Yours truly came up 1 goal short of a 'Hat Trick'....but I'll let you 'Commenters' get into all those details.
Keep 'yer Stick on the Ice.
PS. Thanks to Denis & Pauline for having the gang over for the 'Victory' party!

Let one Slip Away.....
Damn White Bastards! It was a quick paced game. It was back and forth for most of the first half. Then we starting gaining momentum and we got a couple of quick ones to make it 2-0.
They had 3 less skaters than we did and it looked like we were starting to wear them down. Then we got caught on a bad line change and the Bastards put one past Warren in the top corner on a 3 on 2. No worries still ahead by one.
Then we coughed it up in our own end and got caught going the other way. They got it to the front of the net and that little Bastard #12 banged in the rebound. Ok, still no worries, tie game but we're still cool.
Then, a couple of back to back Penalties, by the 'Goat of the Night' who shall remain nameless, and the wheels started wobbling. We killed the first one, but they scored on the second off the face off. Lost the face off straight back to the point, Warren got a piece of it with his stick, but flipped it up and over and.....Fuck 3-2.
We carried the play for the remaining ten to eight minutes but couldn't tie 'er up. We had a chances, some scrambles around the net, and Andy "Mad Bomber" Vail from the point, kept trying to put one "Through" the goalie.
We pulled Warren amid much confusion. Pierre was campaining his Theory that it was 3-3 because, in his "Beautiful Mind" it was all tied up due to the NON-Goal we scored, but it should have counted. Ti-gas was swayed and said "OK, Big Nuts!" so when he found himself out on the ice in the last minute with our net empty, thought we, on the bench, had lost our Fuckin' Minds!......and so our attempt to tie it up with the extra man fizzled.
Woe is us!
