9 was fine, but 8 war Great!

In the final stretch of the season
We had a little Flashback last night.  Marc S. showed up dragging his brother Guy.  It was good to see the Old Timer again! We hung on to beat the Machine last night 4-3!  We had 9 skaters (to start).  Up front yours truly, Karl, Ti-boy, Trevor, Guy, and PA. On the back end we had Pierre, Tigas, and Marc S.. Back between the pipes was Ronnie.  The Machine had 9 skaters as well.  Absent was the big Son of Bitch on defense.  About 5 minutes in, there's a scramble in front of our net, the puck pops up and PA takes a swing at it.  Only he catches one of their guys right in the shnoze...there's blood.  PA gets a 5 and 10 misconduct...hit the showers PA. Now we're down to eight.  I'm sitting in the box to serve the 5 and during that span we score TWO short handed goals!
(hmmm PA's out, I'm in the Box, team doing great)
They score not long after to make it 2-1.  We stretched it out to 3-1 then we traded goals to make it 4-2.  Ronnie was on his game.  They got one to make it 4-3 with about 4 minutes to go.  We scrambled and hung on for the win.
We were better at keeping the puck and moving it around.  Not as many bad give aways as the past weeks. Plus we hustled a little more. Ronnie had one of his best games of the year and there ya have it.
Take that, ya Machine Bastards.  4-3 for the Good Guys.

It's official...we're in a slump

Not really much analysis to make here, Boys.  We let 8 guys out skate and out work us.  We had three lines with four D.  I present to you the 'List of Shame'.
Doug
Stephan
Trevor
Gilles
Bobby
Karl
Noe
Gauvin
Darrell
Marc S.
Matt
P.A.
Andy

Down we go 6-4 to Here for Beer.....Ouch.  That's 4 losses in a row. We're officially in a slump.
I'm not even going to get into the Clusterfuck of the end of the game.  We make it 6-4 with just under 3 minutes to go and fail to pull the goalie and even attempt to make the come back. Shame,  Shame, and Shame again!

Oh, somebody still needs to claim that Carrot found in the shower.
I'm so lonely !!!

Not clicking

"A team that drinks together, Wins together" - Ti-Boy
Three lines...that's right, we managed to pull together 3 lines the other night, but nothing was clicking.
Got beat by the Red Bastards 5-3.  As Ti-Boy has always said over the years, "A team that drinks together, wins together!"
It might be time for a Beer & Wings night out!

Destroyed......

Up front yours truly, Karl, PA, Gilles, Ti-boy, and Bobby.  On the back end, Matt, Marc C., Gauvin, and Ronnie between the pipes.  We shall forever be united in the total beat-down we received last night.
The only thing they didn't do was come into our dressing room after the game and fuck us in the Ass.
That's all I have to say about that.

So...onto to the next one, eh?

Big Win

Game report from PA:

We won at UdeM.  I can’t remember the score.  For a night we thought we would be short, We had a VERY strong team (11 or 12 skaters) and they are probably one of the weakest.

Remi was there for starters; he makes a big difference on the back check.  Just try to get away from him.

We had TGars’ buddy Weasel; very good addition also.

We had the Tracadie boys; Stephan and Trevor.  Stephan’s riffle was bang on.

Mat was there also.  Mat looked dilated 6 cm as he working on breaking in his new skates.

TBoy paid the ice time and picked up some cash; so he was first star.

John Snair was in the net; he had a pretty good game.  A surprising incident of hacking the net minder with the Defence waiting for the LATE whistle.

For the most part, we completely dominated the play in their end.  The never gave up though.

For the rest of us, I think I played defense with Marc Cormier.  TGars and Mat matched up.

Front TBoy, Karl, Weasel, Stephan, Trevor, Remi.  I can’t remember if Noe was there.

TBoy, TGars, Weasel, Mat, Marc C., Karl, Trevor and I ended the night at the Igloo.

Tboy must know the score.

I didn't NOT shoot at the Ref...

Oh, Yes you did !!!!
"I didn't not shoot at the Ref", says PA.  Tied the Islanders last night 3-3.  Up front we had Noe, Trevor, Marc S., Michel, Karl, Ti-Boy, and Gilles. On the back end we had yours truly, Go20, Marc C., and PA.  The game had some pace to it.  The Islanders brought their legs out for this one.  We had replacement Goalie Jason between the pipes and he did a good job.  They got on the board first but we quickly tied it up to make it 1-1.  They took the lead 2-1 with a shot from the point after we lost the face off.  We settled in and both teams were getting chances.  We did a decent job of keeping them to the outside and they weren't getting too many second whacks at it in front of our net.  We tied it up to make it 2-2 and then took the lead 3-2 with about about 7 minutes to go.
With less than 4 minutes to go Noe gets called for hooking, but its a long delay before we can get our hands on it.  When we finally do in our own end, PA picks it up of the side board and decides to whack it down the ice into the empty net...only the Ref was right there in the line of fire.  We get called for Noe's hook PLUS, he calls PA for unsportsmanlike because he claims PA fired it right at him.  So they pull the goalie and now it's 6-on-3 with about 1:30 left.  Jason almost made the save but couldn't quite squeeze it under his arm and they scored the equalizer with about 15 seconds left....Tabernac!
After the game, PA's quote was, "I didn't not shoot at the Ref". Mmmmm...so there ya have it, a Tie 3-3.  Let one slip away.

Dropped a tight one

We're all All-Stars !!!
Dropped a tight one to the Machine 4-3 Sunday morning.  Ronnie had a great game and kept us in it.  We had our chances but just never got the equalizer.  We had 11 skaters show up Sunday morning which was pretty good.  Even Ti-ga wasn't as hung over as last Sunday...so that's an improvement. On the back end we had Ti-ga, Go20, Andy and Marc C.  Up front we had the collective Blistering Speed of yours truly, PA, Karl, Noe, JP, Paul, and Bobby.  We never had the lead and we pulled within one at 3-2 at one point.  But they got the fourth to make a two goal lead again.  We got that one back to make it 4-3 with about 4 minutes left.  We pulled Ronnie but wasn't able to complete the comeback.  It was a good game, but we just ended up on the wrong side of it.

The Hateful 8

Long gone are the days of three lines. Thanks to Remi who came out to give us 8 skaters.  On the back end we had Marc C, Matt, and Andy.  Upfront we had Remi, Karl, Noe, Go20, and yours truly.
The Red Bastards got on the board first thanks to another brilliant episode of
"Adventures with Ron!"
This one is tough to explain, let's just say is started with a flip, a batted down puck, a scramble, a stumble, a desperation swing of the stick, and Ronnie finally coming to rest flat on his back somewhere between his net and the right corner of the Rink as the referee dug out the puck from the back or our net and the Red Bastards headed to center ice in fits of giggles.  Even our Matt "The Rover" admired his creativity.
No worries, though.  We quickly tied it up and stretched the lead out to 3-1.
We traded goals the rest of the way and they came within two a couple of times, but it was never really in doubt.
So take that ya Red Bastards, 7-4 for the Good Guys!

Just when you think you're Hot Snot....

Ouch!
Well about 48hrs after our big win vs. the Islanders, the Hockey Gods decided to bring us crashing back down to earth.  We got skunked 6-0 vs. Molson. John was between the pipes, but it certainly wasn't his fault.
Up front we had yours truly, PA, Ti-Boy, Gilles, Karl, and Paul.  On the back end we had Matt, Brian, Pierre, and "I think I'm still drunk" Ti-ga. They jumped on us we two quick goals before we even knew what was going on....it didn't get any better. The play wasn't as one sided as the score would indicate, but we just couldn't bury anything.  They made their chances count and if it wasn't for John, it could have been worse.
So there ya have it. The Hockey Gods gave us a nice little mocking slap to the face just to keep us in check.

Gut Check

You had one Job! Put it in the emtpy net!
Well we'd lost 6-3 and 14-2 vs the Islanders the last couple of times out, so it was gut check time. On the back end we had Marc C., Ti-ga, PA, and Rover Matt.  Up front we had the blistering speed of yours truly, Ti-boy, Karl, Paul, Noe, and Stephane.  Between the pipes John Snair was back to the scene of the 14-2 drubbing he faced the last outing vs. these shmucks!
Stephane got us on the board picking up his own rebound. Matt tied the game, yes that's right, Matt banged a home a rebound in our own net.
Noe put us up by one on a nice shot from inside the circle on his off wing.  They tied it up with a pinball follow the bouncing puck, three stooges scramble in front of our net to make it 2-2.  They got the next one to make it 3-2 on a questionable high stick, then we had them exactly where we wanted them!
Can't remember who tied it, but we got it to 3-3.
Then on a delayed penalty call Ti-boy fed it up to me, I crossed the blue line, put on the brakes and fed Stephane steaking in across the blue line, he sucked in the D and he made a great play across to Noe who parked it in a wide open cage to make it 4-3.  I think it was Matt who after a scramble and kicking and poking at a loose puck at their blue line, Matt picked it up skated to the slot, faded to his forehand an roofed one glove side to give us a 5-3 lead.
Not long after, myself, Ti-boy and Noe broke out of our end.  Ti-Boy was on his off wing as we came across the blue line.  In a classic Ti-Boy drag, he looked over to pass, but instead saucered one top corner glove side to put us up 6-3 with about 6 minutes left.  They pulled their goalie with about 2 plus minutes left, and yes, I had a break and instead of skating it all the way in, I tried to put it in the open net outside the blue line and....MISSED!....Tabernac!
John was on his game and wasn't F***ing around.  He held the fort and there ya have it....6-3 for the Good Guys...take that ya Islander Bastards!
